Tapestry Glass Schedule Fall 2008
To register for any class you must make a deposit of at least 50% of the tuition which is refundable up to 15 days before the start of the class. There are no exceptions. We reserve the right to cancel any class by refunding the deposit.
GLASS BEAD MAKING with Linda Yaxley

This is a great foundation class which follows the curriculum guidelines set by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers for beginning students. All equipment and materials will be provided and are included in the tuition. You will use an oxygen/propane torch to flame-work your own glass beads. Utilizing Effetre (Moretti) glass rods from Italy, you will pull stringers and “twisties”, learn bead-making techniques and explore different bead decorating options. Linda has a BFA and is a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers. She will discuss tools, safety issues, and studio set-up as well as materials during the class.

Tuition is $240.00. Classes meet from 9:30 to 4:00 each day with a lunch break.
Class size is limited to 6 but requires a minimum of 4 students.
OPEN TORCH
Every Wednesday.
This is an opportunity for students who have taken the bead classes to use the studio’s torches. Torches, tools and gas are included. You will need to supply your own mandrels and glass rods.
You must register in advance by calling Linda at 786-1068.
Cost is $30.00 for each session or become a “frequent torcher” purchasing 6 sessions for $150.00. Open Torch meets from 5:30 to 8:30

STAINED GLASS CLASSES
"A" - September 25th to October 23rd ------------- "B" - November 6th to December 9th
This class is held from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays for nine meetings. After a brief introductory program, beginning students will select a pattern for a window panel using the traditional lead came method. Intermediate students may also enroll to perfect their skills or to learn new ones such as the copper foil method or the techniques needed for three-dimensional pieces (i.e. lamps, boxes, etc.).
The required supplies, listed below, can be purchased at a savings with your tuition. All tools, except cutters, are provided. Glass costs vary depending on pattern choice, type of glass, color, etc. with $40.00 to $75.00 as a fair range.
