I've been fascinated by glass since I was a child, by the infinite options of hot glass, by the colored light it creates and by it's strength and it's fragility. I began working with leaded glass and progressed to etched and fused glass. Many of my pieces reflect geographic forms. I am always struck by the innate balance and harmony found in nature and since my earliest airplane flights those forms have found their way into my art. Recently I have been creating jewelry, combining fused glass and lampworked beads with precious metal wire to create one of a kind wearable art. While it's exhilarating to create a new piece just for the joy of creating, I love the challenge that comes with commission pieces. When I can develop a design that pleases the client and satisfies my own design sense, I am truly happy!
